The committee would like to thank Russell, the choir and all who supported this years Annual Concert. It was a great success with many favourable comments made both during and after this event. It is hoped that we go from strength to strength and it is hoped add to our numbers in the next 12 months. Our guest soloist, Austrian Baritone, Lukas Karql was a fantastic last minute addition that made for a most enjoyable evening.  Thanks again to all.  The Choirs next performance will be Saturday 12 June at St Mary’s Bury St Edmunds.

Proposed Day Trip The trip will take place on Saturday 31 July. Departing Austin Fields at 9am Open to all Choir Members, family, friends and Patrons. First come first served basis. Names to Chris Hunt by 21 June.

From Committee We have a number of proposed dates for concerts in the coming year, a confirmed list will be made available once finalised. Russell has a few reservations about doing too many in his first year with new material etc. Watch this space.

Female soloist booked for Xmas Concert –
Eimear Collins, Soprano – student at the Royal Academy of Music, Eimear performs popular arias and songs from the world of opera and folk music.

Recent performances have included the role of Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.
Certainly tipped by many, as a young lady with a big future.

The Concert on the 15^th December will also include a local string quartet “Melodia”.

Sadly we are losing Reuben as our MD, lets make our Christmas Concert a great one, we greatly appreciate his time and efforts he has spent with us. So lets give him a performance to remember.

His replacement arrives January 2010, Russell McKie, Russell comes to us from Methwold.
His previous experience lists MD to the Royal Navel Association Male Voice Choir and various mixed choirs. He is a qualified music therapist, and currently combines this with piano tuition.

We look forward to his arrival in the New Year.
