Introduction to the Kings Lynn Male Voice Choir:

The Choir was formed in 1957 by the Choristers of, St Margaret’s Church and St Nicholas Chapel in Kings Lynn.

Although only one of the original members remains in our ranks, the choir has been refreshed with equally enthusiastic singers but we are always on the look out for new blood to bolster our numbers.
We are a lively bunch with a love of music, singing and always game for a laugh.

The Choir provides enjoyment to many in the Kings Lynn and the surrounding area ands helps other organisations and charities raise funds. The Choir has its own two main concerts each year, its Annual Concert every May, and the Christmas Concert, when guest artists from the Royal Academy of Music join the Choir for a great night of music and entertainment.

Some years ago, our Choir has had the honour of singing before Her majesty the Queen and the late Queen Mother.
They have also had friendly exchange visits both in this country – to Filton and Ashington and in Europe – to Elton in Germany, and Coevorden in the Netherlands, the home of the Vancouver family.

The Choir was a founder member of the Anglia Group of the National Association of Choirs, for which they organised a very successful Massed
Choirs Concert in the Corn Exchange, in March 2009.

The Choir’s aims and objects are in line with those of the Association:

· To encourage and support the cause of choral singing
· To support and add to the cultural life of West Norfolk
· To raise funds for charities and assist with fundraising for local charities and other by performing at locally organised concerts
· To give pleasure to our audiences, and our members.

The Choir has a comprehensive and impressive list of friends and Patrons, and much appreciate the support given by them throughout the year.
Patrons receive regular newsletters and discounts on the Choirs own concerts.
